Coalition Rejects ‘Faceless’ Groups Behind Attacks on Seyi Tinubu

The Coalition of Lagos Indigenous Youth has distanced itself from anonymous groups behind recent attacks on Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued by the group, it was revealed that certain individuals, posing as members of the Coalition, have been spreading false information to discredit Mr. Seyi Tinubu.

The statement read, “We have learned that some unscrupulous individuals, masquerading as the Coalition of Lagos Indigenous Youth, have used the media to malign the hardworking son of our leader, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We want to make it clear that the offensive post circulating was not authored by any member or official of our coalition.”

The group reaffirmed its support for Seyi Tinubu, stating, “Mr. Seyi Tinubu is a proud and diligent son of Lagos. We fully support him and would stand by him should he decide to run for the office of Governor of Lagos State.”

The coalition specifically called out Ibrahim Whyte and his associates, warning them to cease their defamatory actions and false representation of the group. “We strongly advise Ibrahim Whyte and his associates to stop their attempts at blackmail and impersonation,” the statement added.

Hon. Tunde Azeez, the Coalition’s coordinator, emphasized that the groups in question were unknown, illegitimate, and had no authority to represent the Coalition’s interests. He also warned that the group would take legal action if the defamation continued.

“It is shocking that, in this day and age, some faceless individuals would try to undermine a trailblazer like Mr. Seyi Tinubu—someone who has never publicly discussed political ambitions in such a manner.

Lagos is home to Mr. Seyi Tinubu, not only as an indigene but also as a committed advocate for the youth. He is one of us,” the statement concluded.
