On Friday, Judge Juan Merchan granted Donald Trump’s request to file a motion seeking the dismissal of criminal charges against him in New York.
The judge also removed the previously scheduled sentencing date for the former president-elect from the court’s calendar.
The case centers around hush money allegations brought against Trump by New York State.
Judge Merchan set deadlines for both sides: Trump’s legal team has until December 2 to submit their motion to dismiss, while Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office has until December 9 to respond.
Additionally, the judge confirmed that the sentencing date for Trump—originally set for November 26—has been adjourned, following a request from both Trump’s attorneys and Bragg’s office.
