The Ogun State Police Command has officially declared popular singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, widely known as “Portable,” wanted for his alleged involvement in a violent assault on government officials performing their lawful duties.
According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, around 10:00 AM. Officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were carrying out an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota when they encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at Odogwu Bar in the area.
Upon introducing themselves and requesting the approved building plan for the property, the father informed them that his son was unavailable.
However, moments later, Portable allegedly arrived at the scene with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, leading a gang of nine thugs in a brutal attack on the unarmed government officials. The enforcement officers sustained injuries but managed to escape and reported the assault to the Ota Area Command, which later transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
Portable on the Run, Police Intensify Search
Following the attack, nine of Portable’s alleged accomplices were arrested, but the singer managed to flee and has since gone into hiding. Despite multiple formal invitations requesting his presence at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, Portable failed to respond, neither in person nor through legal representation.
Due to his continued evasion, the police have secured a valid court order declaring him wanted.
Public Urged to Assist in His Arrest
SP Odutola has urged members of the public to provide any valuable information that could lead to Portable’s immediate arrest. The police warn that anyone found aiding or harboring the suspect will face legal consequences.
