Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, a well-known and often controversial figure in the UK, is not facing deportation, his solicitor, Dele Olawale, has confirmed in a strongly-worded statement. This comes in response to swirling rumours and tabloid reports claiming that Adegboyega was at risk of expulsion from the country.
In a press release dated December 4, 2024, Olawale labeled the claims “fake and false,” emphasizing Adegboyega’s clean record over more than two decades in the UK. “Deportation is for criminals. He is not,” the lawyer asserted, accusing British tabloids of “ignorance and sensationalism” for amplifying unfounded claims.
Although SPAC Nation, the organization associated with Adegboyega, has been scrutinized by the courts and the Charity Commission, Olawale clarified that Adegboyega himself has never been convicted or found guilty of any misconduct.
The lawyer expressed frustration over what he described as a societal tendency to celebrate others’ downfalls. “Why is there joy in seeing people go down, including pastors? Society has a big problem,” he remarked.
Olawale also condemned the spread of misinformation, calling it “an act of idiocy” and a reflection of sensationalism within certain media circles. Despite facing numerous challenges, he noted that Adegboyega remains resilient and thriving.
Concluding his statement, Olawale dismissed the deportation allegations as baseless and undeserving of attention. He stated unequivocally that no further comments would be made on the matter.
