Tottenham Appoint Thomas Frank as New Head Coach on Four-Year Deal

Tottenham Hotspur have officially named Thomas Frank as their new head coach, with the Danish tactician signing a deal that will keep him at the club until 2028.

Frank makes the move after a transformative seven-year spell at Brentford, where he elevated the club from the Championship into a stable Premier League side. He replaces Ange Postecoglou, who was dismissed despite guiding Spurs to a Europa League triumph that ended the club’s 17-year wait for silverware.

Announcing the appointment, Tottenham said in a statement:
“We are thrilled to welcome Thomas Frank as our new Head Coach. With vast experience in English football, Thomas has proven himself as one of the most forward-thinking and impactful managers in the game. His track record in developing players and building competitive squads speaks volumes.”

Frank’s backroom staff includes familiar faces from Brentford—Justin Cochrane, Chris Haslam, and Joe Newton—while Andreas Georgson joins from Manchester United to bolster the coaching team.

The new head coach steps into a challenging role, inheriting a Spurs side that finished a dismal 17th in the Premier League last season, with only 38 points and 22 losses marking one of the club’s worst domestic campaigns.

Nevertheless, thanks to their Europa League success, Tottenham will return to Champions League football next season—presenting Frank with his first-ever opportunity to manage on Europe’s biggest stage.
