Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has officially named his deputy, Murtala Garo, as his preferred running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
The announcement was made during a strategic meeting with federal political appointees serving under President Bola Tinubu at the Kano Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, according to a statement issued on Monday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa.
Governor Yusuf explained that his decision was influenced by Garo’s unwavering loyalty, dedication, and significant contributions to the administration and the development of Kano State since taking office as deputy governor.
