Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of planning to manipulate the state’s upcoming governorship election, citing recent comments by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.
Adeleke, through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, described Oyetola’s remarks as a warning sign that the APC may be preparing to influence the outcome of the August 15 poll.
Oyetola, who previously served as Osun governor, had on Saturday told APC supporters and stakeholders that Adeleke should brace for defeat, insisting that the governor’s support for President Bola Tinubu would not prevent the APC from taking back the state.
The minister was responding to Adeleke’s earlier claims that members of the APC and Accord were facing intimidation ahead of the election.
Speaking in Yoruba, Oyetola said Adeleke’s complaints suggested that the governor was becoming increasingly concerned about his chances at the polls.
He maintained that Adeleke’s endorsement of Tinubu would not stop the APC from reclaiming the Osun governorship seat.
