Another PDP Lawmaker Joins APM

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) suffered another blow in the House of Representatives on Wednesday as Aliyu Misau, who represents the Misau/Dambam Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, officially defected to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

His departure comes just days after four other Bauchi lawmakers elected under the PDP banner also switched allegiance to the APM, raising fresh concerns over the opposition party’s declining strength in the state.

Misau’s decision was formally communicated in a letter to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, which was read during Wednesday’s plenary session.

In the letter, the lawmaker attributed his exit from the PDP to the lingering leadership crisis and internal divisions within the party.
