The 9th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA/AFRIMA) wrapped up in Lagos, Nigeria on January 11, 2026, celebrating Africa’s biggest music stars in a vibrant showcase of the continent’s talent.
Nigeria dominated the night with Rema taking home three major wins — Artiste of the Year, Best Male Artiste in Western Africa, and Best African Artiste in RnB & Soul. Burna Boy clinched Album of the Year for No Sign of Weakness, while Shallipopi’s Laho won Song of the Year and Best African Collaboration featuring Burna Boy. Other notable wins included Yemi Alade (Best Soundtrack), Phyno (Best Hip-Hop), Chella (African Fans’ Favourite), and Qing Madi (Most Promising).
Hosted at the Eko Convention Centre, the event drew industry leaders, creatives, and fans, reaffirming African music’s growing cultural and global influence.
