Offset rushed to hospital after shooting incident in Florida

Rapper Offset was rushed to the hospital on Monday evening after being shot near a casino in Florida, his representative confirmed, noting that he is currently in stable condition.

Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was previously married to Cardi B, with whom he shares three children. He also rose to fame as part of the successful rap group Migos, which suffered a tragic loss in 2022 when member Takeoff was fatally shot.

Authorities from the Seminole Police Department did not officially confirm the victim’s identity but stated that the injured individual was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital and is expected to recover, as the injuries were not life-threatening.

The incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. at the valet area outside the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. Police reported that the situation began as a physical altercation before escalating into gunfire.

Officials reassured the public that the area is now safe, emphasizing that normal operations at the venue have resumed.

Police also confirmed the arrest of Tione Jayden Merritt, who has been charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the incident. He was booked into Broward County Jail, while investigations continue to determine if others were involved.
