Iran denies cargo ship attack as Trump warns of possible US strikes.

Iran on Thursday dismissed claims that it attacked a South Korean cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week, while US President Donald Trump said a peace agreement to end the conflict remained “very possible,” but warned that American airstrikes could resume if negotiations collapse.

In a statement, Tehran’s embassy in Seoul strongly denied accusations linking Iranian forces to the explosion aboard the Panama-registered HMM Namu. The ship caught fire on Monday while passing through the crucial Strait of Hormuz with 24 crew members onboard.

Trump later alleged that Iran had “taken some shots” at the vessel and called on South Korea to support US-led operations aimed at securing safe passage through the strategic shipping route.
